Sensory Playground at Chevron Park

Nature-Inspired Sensory Playground at Chevron Park

Chevron Park in Perth is a beautifully designed 2.6-hectare parkland featuring nature-based playgrounds and lush, rehabilitated green spaces. Surrounding Optus Stadium – voted the Most Beautiful Stadium in the World in 2019 – the park blends Perth’s outdoor culture with the landscape of the Swan River and embraces the area’s Aboriginal heritage.

The park’s six distinct play areas are inspired by the six seasons of the Noongar people, the local Aboriginal Australian community. The highlight of these is the Sensory Playground, a popular attraction for children of all ages. This playground includes musical instruments, a flying fox, trampolines, a roundabout, sand pits with diggers, and a basketball court to ensure fun for everyone.

The Sensory Playground is mimics and connects with Western Australia’s diverse natural landscapes. Its play zones and structures feature textures, colours, and plants that activate the senses for an immersive experience. Ramps, tactile paths, and sensory panels make the playground accessible for children of all abilities, encouraging inclusive and adventurous play.

The Sensory Playground also provides public barbecue facilities, shaded picnic areas, and scenic viewpoints along the Swan River. It is ideal for family outings and social gatherings, offering a welcoming environment where visitors can enjoy the outdoors for a whole day. It is a community facility the that fosters connection, play, and appreciation for the unique beauty of Western Australia.
