Ringwood Lake Park

Christie barbecues are an integral part of the Australian outdoor culture and landscape. Browse a selection of projects including parks, rooftop gardens, playgrounds, hospitals, resorts, and retirement facilities, for your inspiration.

The 8.5-hectare Ringwood Lake Park and Bushland reserve in Melbourne’s East has been redeveloped to include all-abilities public barbecues and play equipment for families. The popular Maroondah community recreational destination now boasts true Universal Access to its comprehensive facilities. In addition to the existing lake and bridge, sound shell, and mining history display, the playground features inclusive equipment, a Liberty Swing, and two of Christie’s wheelchair accessible, DDA compliant A Series barbecues. The play structure has been designed to blend into the natural surrounds inspired by the different levels of the rainforest including the forest floor with under deck play, the canopy level containing the all-accessible ramp and the emergent layer featuring the tall crow’s nest. With picnic areas located along the shady banks of Ringwood Lake and its complementary picnic settings and barbecues, it is a truly accessible environment which can now be enjoyed by  for visitors of all ages and abilities.
