Aurasaurus Playground – Aura

Prehistoric Play at Aurasaurus Park

In Nirimba, one of the Sunshine Coast’s fastest-growing suburbs, Aurasaurus Park has quickly become a favourite for locals and visitors. Opened in late 2022, it’s more than a playground — it’s a destination where fun, creativity, and community come together.

At the centre is a giant dinosaur structure – part sculpture, part play equipment. Bright colours, climbing nets, tactile panels, and a long tail slide turn it into a sensory adventure. For younger kids, a wooden dinosaur egg offers a gentler space to explore. Soft sand and rubber underfoot add extra safety and comfort.

The prehistoric theme runs throughout the park — from fossil dig pits to archaeology-themed signs — sparking imagination and storytelling. It’s designed to encourage learning through play, with features that support physical, social, and cognitive development.

Beyond the play area, you’ll find open lawns, shaded picnic spots, hammocks, and daybeds. With community barbecues, seating, and easy access for bikes and scooters, it’s a perfect weekend spot for families living in Aura and beyond.

Three years on, Aurasaurus Park remains a highlight of Stockland’s Aura Park trail, which proposes a themed park within 400 metres of every home. It’s a great example of how smart, playful design can bring people together and help communities grow.
